Width tells you how much wall a sheet covers. Length needs to suit the wall height. Thickness helps you choose a sheet for the surface and the job.

01 / THE THREE MEASUREMENTS
Read the size in the right order.
A sheet specification usually gives its length, width and thickness. Each measurement answers a different project question.
1.22m
Nominal width
A common width for standard PVC wall sheets. Use approximately 1.2m per sheet when making a starting perimeter estimate.
1.5–3mm
Standard sheet thickness
Consider wall condition and expected use when choosing between thinner and more substantial standard sheets.
02 / SELECTING A LENGTH
Measure the wall height before choosing the sheet.
A longer sheet may allow a full-height installation without a horizontal join. If the wall is taller than the selected sheet, the layout needs further planning.
Measure the actual height of each wall section. Check ceilings, changes in level and how the edges will be finished.

Thickness does not remove the need to prepare a damaged or unsuitable wall surface before fitting.

05 / PUT THE NUMBERS TO WORK
From sheet size to sheet quantity.
Once you know the type and length of sheet you need, measure the total wall perimeter. For standard PVC wall sheets, divide that perimeter by 1.2 and round up to the next full sheet.
