The sheets are only part of the wall.
Plan where the sheets meet, turn corners and come to an end. Those details determine which profiles and finishing products belong on your project list.

01 / MAP THE ROOM
Draw the edges before choosing the trims.
Your sheet estimate is based on wall perimeter. It does not tell you how many joins, exposed edges or changes of direction the finished wall will have.
Sketch each wall, mark where full sheets will meet and note any doors, windows, corners and visible terminations. This gives you a clearer list of the details to discuss with a supplier or installer.
02 / PROFILE TYPES
A profile for each change in the wall.
Names and designs vary between ranges. These are the common functions to look for when reviewing PVC cladding profiles.
J section
Used to finish a sheet edge or termination. Check which exposed edges need a profile and which product design suits them.
Internal corner
Finishes the junction where two clad walls meet at an inside corner. Check the chosen system’s corner detail.
External corner
Finishes and protects an outside corner or projecting edge. Profile shapes can vary with the desired finish.
03 / CHECK COMPATIBILITY
Match the details to the sheet.
A profile needs to suit the thickness and type of sheet you are fitting. Check its length and colour too, particularly when planning coloured or specialist cladding.
Board-style systems can use different profiles from standard thin sheets. Confirm the complete set of compatible components for your chosen range.

04 / THINK THROUGH THE ROOM
Four places that are easy to miss.
A short walk around the room with your sketch can reveal details that a sheet count alone will not show.
Doors and windows
Check the edges around openings and where the wall finish stops.
Wall-to-wall corners
Count internal and external corners separately on the plan.
Changes in height
Note where sheet heights or the top edge of the finish change.
Visible end points
Identify exposed sheet edges that need a considered finish.
05 / THE REMAINING COMPONENTS
Remember fitting and sealing.
A complete wall system may also require compatible fixing and sealing products. Choose these for the specific sheets, substrate and installation method, following the product and installer guidance.
